State Program Provides Opportunity to Support Local Education

EMMAUS, PA (November 19, 2021) – As part of its philanthropic efforts, Equinox Benefits Consulting is donating $25,000 to the Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation to be used for educational scholarships in the Diocese of Allentown’s K-8 schools. The donation will be presented by Equinox CEO Tom Groves to Diocesan representatives at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22 at St. Ann’s School in Emmaus, one of the schools that will receive a portion of the company’s total gift.

The donation is made possible through Equinox’s participation in Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), which provides tax credits for contributions made to eligible Scholarship Organizations, Educational Improvement Organizations, and/or Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organizations. Funds are distributed by the non-profits to low- and middle-income families as scholarships that can make their school choice more financially accessible.

“Equinox has a longstanding commitment to giving back to local organizations that provide education and youth opportunities. The EITC program allows us to amplify that support for outstanding local education providers like the Allentown Diocese,” said Groves. “Presenting this gift at St. Ann’s – in our company’s ‘hometown’ – and knowing it will benefit families there is particularly special.”

“The Diocese of Allentown and the Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation are blessed to have such committed donors, like Equinox, who believe in our mission,” said John Fierro, director of scholarships at the Diocese of Allentown. “Through Equinox’s commitment to this program over these past few years, our schools have been able to help countless families achieve the Catholic education they desire.”
